Living a Fourth Quarter Offense

7 Ways to Start Living with a Sense of Urgency

NFL teams score approximately 30 percent more points in the 4th quarter than they do in the 1st quarter.  If you’re a football fan, this shouldn’t surprise you.  The success of the “two-minute drill” is astounding.  With only 60 minutes to play, I would think a team should treat each second of the first two minutes of a game as sacredly as the last two.  Of course, there are physical stamina issues in an NFL game to consider, but conceptually I hold my ground.

In our lives, very few of us have physical stamina issues to consider in regards to achieving our dreams.  However, why do so many of us live life like it’s the first quarter instead of the fourth quarter?
I’ll get to that later.
Tomorrow, I’ll tackle that.
Maybe next year, I’ll launch out on my own.
I’m not ready for that yet.
Sound familiar?
Living with “fourth quarter” passion has nothing to do with age.  I’m reminding us all that our time on Earth is limited, there is no tomorrow.  Today is the only day where anything can be achieved.  Truly.
Here are seven ways to consider when transitioning from first-quarter living to fourth-quarter living?
  1. Gratitude.  Spend at least five minutes a day reviewing the things in your life for which you are thankful.  Be sure to include “time” – be grateful for the time you have been given and for the time you have in front of you.
  2. Don’t count sheep at night.  Instead, repeat the word “now” fifty, yes — 50, times before you go to sleep at night.  In the morning, repeat the word “now” during your morning routine.  Play with the word – now, now!, now?, now?! but just keep repeating it.
  3. Move the needle.  Assume your progress towards achieving your dreams is being monitored on a gauge.  Are your actions moving the needle forward?  Sometimes, we fool ourselves into thinking we are taking actions towards achieving our dreams by stay busy, but “busy” isn’t synonymous with “productive.”  Need a litmus test – imagine you had only one month to achieve your dream, what would you be working on and what would you let go?
  4. Measure.  Quantify an element that is central to your success and then measure it, every single day.  Further, place your measurement on a chart in a location that is highly visible to you.  The power of visually seeing the progress, or lack of progress, towards your goal cannot be understated.   If you think you have a dream that you would like to achieve that cannot be quantified, contact me.  I am certain that I can assist in disabusing you of that notion.
  5. Peer Pressure.  Many people do not share their dreams because they fear that if they don’t achieve them that they will appear foolish to those that know about the dream.  You are not going to lose.  This is the fourth quarter, you need all of the help that you can get.  Let the world know what you intend to achieve, or at least let a few close friends know.  There is unspeakable power in this single act.  You will find yourself shifting into fourth quarter living when your reputation is at risk.In writing this, I’ve motivated myself.  “My dream is to become a New York Times best-selling author.”  There I said it.  You can too.

  1. Flip the script on your fears.  Between you and your dream is a substantial amount of fear around which there is no path.  You will have to go through this fear head on – fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of rejection, etc.  There are no loopholes.  To make matters worse, each day that passes where you ignore or avoid these fears, they grow stronger.  These fears have been haunting you for so long, isn’t it exhausting?  Isn’t it boring?  There is a lyric from a Ray LaMontagne song that my wife and I often reference when our fears are getting the best of us.

“Well, I looked my demons in the eyes
laid bare my chest, said “Do your best, destroy me.
You see, I’ve been to hell and back so many times,
I must admit you kind of bore me.”

  1. Never wait for motivation.  Motivation is a thief – a thief of time and opportunity.  He promises to call soon.  He promises to spend more time with you.  Motivation arrives through one path, and one path only – action.  Action creates motivation.  The grand illusion is that motivation creates action.  In the first quarter, we can believe this fallacy, but in the fourth quarter, it’s time to admit that motivation is a lark.  Action creates motivation.  Therefore, no matter how beat down you may feel, if you want to motivation to join you in your travels, you must act first.  Action – now, now, now, now, now, now . .

7 Keys To A Journey Of Personal Growth and Happiness

by Life Coach Dr. See Love

Everyone deals with personal growth and happiness in different ways. Some individuals experience road blocks that have the greatest effect on the ability to create positive change. Others recognize the road blocks and obtain appropriate tools to help them move beyond inner confusion. Throughout my career as a professional motivational speaker in the field of Spiritual Psychology and Social Services, I have been able to help individuals to effectively deal with the challenges faced and identify their personal road blocks and apply seven keys to move forward toward their personal growth and happiness. Here are my seven keys:

Live Happier: It’s so important to acknowledge that we all need Love to keep stress at a minimum. Conscious loving releases endorphins in your brain and the simple act of forgiveness works as a natural anti-depressant.

Positive Attitude: Choosing forgiveness sets the heart free to embrace more loving. As much as our bodies need rest, so do our hearts. It’s important to take time to meditate to help with your life’s challenges.

Personal Goal Setting: What are you really called to do in this life time? Set goals that serve your highest purpose. Don’t just be good, you can be great!

Meditation Techniques: Sit quietly and listen to your mind. Then tell your mind to be quiet. Let you soul be the lead in the conversation. This will help give you calming and pleasurable feelings.

Realizing Your Potential: One of the few industries that thrive is “fear”… There’s a reason for that. Fear calls people to action, but so does Love. Whether a new birth, a wedding or a goal achieved … loving generates more love. I recommend aligning your goals with what is true to your heart! Uplifting events will occur naturally.

Developing Healthier Thoughts: Science has proven the conscious loving releases positive endorphins. Think about how you can love more each day.

Trust Love: Get in the conversation. Ask questions. Seek answers. Find the next level on your path to creating move love in your life.

General Lifestyle Update

Today I realized its been exactly a year that I haven't published much on this ole blog here. This blog will be forever a tool into releasing overall thoughts and hopefully some wisdom towards similar experiences that you may be going through.

Heres an overall update

1. I am still living within this overall old persons condo that bugs the shit out of me. There will be Karma towards this crazy woman that lives in my building's way! Regardless of that and the BS excuse for fees, the place is actually quite wonderful.

2. I have indeed got (still getting) over my need to be independent and single. I have a boyfriend from which can put up with me and vice versa.

3. Work is booming and goals seem to be getting accomplished. (big things this year!)

4. one of my best friends moved to another state which sucks and my friend group is not the same however with any change, there will be progress from which I am hopeful. Looking back at my old town I really didnt have many close friends either. Like they say, your closest friends are those from which you can count on your fingers.

5. Sometimes I reflect back and realize that I have been living in a new place for a few years now without any remote family and it still seems weird to think about. I still miss my close family like all hell, but I am coping much better.

Right now my focus this year will be to build the biz and build the relationships that are around me and hopefully take a vacation sometime soon (its been 3 years)

Toodles folks. If I have any revelations I will keep yall posted.<3

Great Aircraft to Learn to Fly in –Diamond DA42

Provocative, fast and super entertaining –these 3 words define the new aircraft Diamond DA42. The innovative and tech-savvy light airplane technology brought the new Diamond DA42 that is on the leading edge of comfort and unique style.

Engine’s expediency:

This airplane took its present form by passing through many improvements. DA42-VI is carbon-fiber twin-engine airplane, fourth version. Its design is similar to those of old diamond gliders. If you load in aviation qualities in the diesel Mercedes-Benz engine then it makes the engine for this airplane, Austro AE300. It has new, unique and more promising nacelles and propellers. These improvements make this aircraft excel earlier designs like DA42 NG. The aircraft has infused screws and compartment doors of nose baggage. Similar is the case with the panels of ice protection system. DA42-VI rudder has taken a new face with a five-knot reduction in visual meteorological conditions (VMC). The rudder pedals are electrically driven. It has Garmin G1000. Two throttles, big in size, are present in the center console. The weight of the aircraft got reduced by 88 pounds. The aileron hinges now have a fairing. With all these improvements, this plane has managed to excel DA42 NG by fifteen knots. It has become faster than the aforementioned airplane.

Interior of DA42-V:

New interior with Avidyne active traffic system has been given to this plane to make it more comfortable, enticing, and captivating. New leather reclining seats with lumber support, sun visors, and oxygen visors are present in it. The seats have air bagged seat belts. The seats never get hot as others do when a person sits on them for a long time. A great overhead console has also been added to the interior of this marvelous creation of diamond.

The in-flight experience:

The engine is a unique one as it has electronic control. This aircraft starts easily with pushing on avionics master. Press the engine control buttons, two in number, and get it started. There is no rocket science involved as it is an automatic engine. You do not have to wait for a long time even if the engine is cold, a second will be enough.
Unlike other aircrafts, it always starts normally; no hot or cold engines start. During the flight, the engine functions differently as compared to other aircrafts.  All you need is to set a percentage for fuel burn and speed, other conventional stuff like settlement of RPM is not present in this air craft. The absence of RPM and leaning procedure makes it easier for the pilot to fly this beauty.  As it is an automatic machine hence, it is easily stopped by pushing off the avionics master and flipping that down. In-flight easy engine shutdowns ensure security and safe flight. The system is easy. In-flight startup of aircraft engine involves no knack. All that is requisite is that just switch on using the key after you set it up to 100 knots.

This aircraft is the best and an excellent machine that can attain the height of 12,000 feet and 18,000 feet with and without weight respectively. These heights can easily be attained when only one engine functions. The props give quick drag that makes it easier for the aircraft to land easily in short time. The trailing-link gear adds more help in this regard. In a nutshell, this tech-savvy flying beauty is perfect for commercialflight training.

The Inappropriate Love

Hey yall,

Today I wanted to share in spite of Valentines Day, to talk about the kind of love the sticks that necessarily shouldn't.

It could be a friend that you care for that doesn't demonstrate the same values or ambitions as you (nor even in a positive way)

Or it could be a lover whom you can barely carry a conversation with. Or a mistress that you wish you didn't accidentally fall in love with and then sleep with.

Lifestyle Progress

Sorry for the delay ladies and gentlemen,

Through out this journey I have found these things:

  • Sometimes being an asshole to friends make them respect you more, sometimes it just makes you an asshole (if you cross the line ofcourse)
  • Asshole moves are not the same as betraying your friends!! Please take note of that. For example making a joke when your friend drives his car into a ditch SOBER is a pretty much asshole move BUT sleeping with your friend's ex or current boyfriend is plain fucked up.
  • Learn to let go and move on. As much as I talked about moving on, it is in actuality harder than it looks. You don't want to move on because you don't know any other way, the thought of new circumstances frighten you or you are plain lazy to make changes in your life. Mine are about all of the above... basically
